Requirements to fly solo

• Mandatory training: You need to complete a paragliding course that includes flight theory, meteorology, aerodynamics and hands-on practice.
• Pilot license: In Colombia, you must obtain a sports license issued by the Colombian Air Sports Federation or an internationally recognized equivalent body.
• Your own gear: You need your own wing (paraglider), harness, helmet, variometer, radio and reserve parachute. Complete equipment can cost between $8.000.000 and $20.000.000 COP.
• Flight hours: Before flying independently, it's recommended to accumulate at least 50-100 supervised flights.
